Annie Dear is a director at Social Finance, where she supports the advisory services and social investment teams. Based in Social Finance’s San Francisco office, she works with government, nonprofit, and financial clients to identify and prioritize effective interventions, perform diligence on service providers, analyze the economics of potential projects, and structure and execute Pay for Success deals and other performance-based projects. At Social Finance, her work has focused on education, workforce development, criminal justice, and outcomes rate cards—a procurement tool designed to shift governments toward paying for outcomes.
Before joining, she worked as a policy researcher on the campaign of California state senator, Bob Hertzberg. She also completed the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs in Los Angeles, an experiential program that promotes effective and ethical leadership in civic affairs. Annie graduated from Williams College with a BA with honors in Political Science.
