Hanna Jamal is an Associate Director supporting the Social Investment and Advisory Services teams at Social Finance. Hanna is working on projects to reduce recidivism for youth involved in the juvenile justice system and expand access to maternal health and early childhood development services.
Prior to joining Social Finance, Hanna spent five years supporting the implementation of global education programs for Plan International and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). While at Plan International, Hanna worked on three education projects funded by USAID/MCC in West Africa, managed a regional early childhood development project in Kenya and Mozambique, and oversaw a grants portfolio of $10 million to support education programming in post-earthquake Haiti. Hanna’s passion for working at the intersection of business and social impact continued to grow through her work as a Summer Portfolio Associate at Acumen West Africa, a Business Planning Consultant with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and as Co-founder of Urban Co-Lab, an Austin-based coworking community for social entrepreneurs. Hanna holds an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
