A Zero-Interest Loan Helped Jonetta Step Into Health Care IT Leadership

After more than 15 years working in health care, Jonetta sought a leadership role in the field of electronic medical records. She first learned about Merit America from a Facebook ad, and she enrolled in Merit America’s Project Management Certification Program with a zero-interest loan supported by the Google Career Certificates Fund.

 “You just don’t know the impact of not having to pay back more money than you spent,” she said about the zero-interest loan. “Especially when the prospect of not getting the job is out there. We know what that looks like, with all the student loan debt in the country these days.”

Thanks to the training and confidence she gained from the program, Jonetta now works as an implementation manager for a health care IT consulting firm, which allows her to travel all around the country.

“I can’t say it enough; it changed my life,” said Jonetta. “This program is one of the best decisions I ever made.”

Today, Jonetta has the professional fulfilment and financial stability she needs to support her family.

“When my grandkids say, ‘Grandma, can you?’ I can. So, it makes me happy.”
