Meg Massey is a Director of Policy & Communications with the new Social Finance Institute, where she leads efforts to amplify the organization’s research, partnerships, and policy impact. She specializes in translating complex issues into actionable insights, connecting research, advocacy, and community engagement to drive systemic change.
Previously, Meg led strategic outreach for Upaya Social Ventures and GSG Impact and supported leading mission-driven organizations as an independent consultant. Her interest in the social sector began with her work on early Pay for Success projects as a policy analyst in the White House Office of Management and Budget.
Meg is the co-author of the award-winning book Letting Go: How Philanthropists and Impact Investors Can Do More Good By Giving Up Control (2021). A journalist by training, her writing has appeared in publications like Impact Alpha and the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and she is a co-founder of the digital magazine Proximate.
Meg earned her BA magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College and her MA in American government from Georgetown University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and dog.
