Today, MacKenzie Scott shared “Seeding by Ceding,” a Medium blog post outlining gifts totaling $2.7 billion to 286 high-impact organizations, including Social Finance.

Scott wrote that she wished she could call the post “286 Teams Empowering Voices the World Needs to Hear,” and emphasized the critical role social sector infrastructure organizations play in enabling social change. She noted:

“Social sector infrastructure organizations empower community leaders, support grassroots organizing and innovation, measure and evaluate what works, and disseminate information so that community leaders, elected officials, volunteers, employees, and donors at every level of income can make informed decisions about how to partner and invest.”

We are deeply grateful to MacKenzie Scott and Dan Jewett for this transformative gift, which affirms the hard work and dedication of our board and 80-person team over the past decade. We are proud to be listed among many of our partners and friends, including Bridgespan, Center for Effective Philanthropy, Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, FSG, Kiva, MDRC, New Profit, Project Evident, Results for America, Third Sector, The Urban Institute, and numerous others.

We look forward to making the most of this catalytic support in service of our mission to measurably improve lives.
