Boston—Today, the national impact finance and advisory nonprofit Social Finance announced Michael Grossman will oversee its growing impact investing portfolio and investor relations as Managing Director, Impact Investments.

Grossman began his career managing teams for Citibank in west and north Africa before returning to the U.S., where he has worked in various roles in the public and private sectors, including his recent role as Managing Director of Private Credit at the environmentally and socially oriented investment advisor New Island Capital Management.

In his new role at Social Finance, Grossman will lead the firm’s impact investing work, including its Career Impact Bond, a holistic financing model designed to increase access to education, employment, and economic opportunity, as well as its donor-advised fund strategies.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Michael on board,” Social Finance CEO Tracy Palandjian said. “He not only brings his outstanding track record and impact investment expertise, but also, importantly, genuine humility and a deep commitment to social justice.”

“Social Finance’s impact investing portfolio is growing rapidly. The innovative impact-first strategies developed by Social Finance like the Career Impact Bond can produce real, measurable results,” Grossman said. “I am very excited to join this team and help lead this important work.”

Social Finance has pioneered a set of innovative outcomes-based funding strategies in the U.S. over the past decade, including the Social Impact Bond. The organization launched the first-ever Career Impact Bond in 2019. Founded in 2011, Social Finance has a team of more than 80 people with offices in Boston, Austin, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
