Kirstin Hill is President and Chief Operating Officer of Social Finance, a national nonprofit and registered investment adviser that partners with government, philanthropy, and business leaders to improve systems and expand opportunity. She leads the organization’s day-to-day operations across its impact, workforce and education investments, and public sector practice, and oversees the internal teams that support the organization’s work. Since its founding, Social Finance has mobilized over $500 million in new investments designed to achieve improved outcomes across a range of issue areas, including economic mobility, health, and housing, and today has more than 120 team members across five offices.
Before joining Social Finance, Hill spent 25 years at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, most recently as Chief Operating Officer of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, a roughly $4 trillion wealth management organization. She led an 8,000-person team spanning field operations, digital and product platforms, client service, and growth strategy, and helped drive business transformation, stronger organic growth, and record client satisfaction. Earlier in her career, she led the Personal Retirement Solutions business and held roles across equity derivatives and convertible bond trading in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Australia.
A graduate of Harvard College, Hill lives in Boston with her husband and two daughters.
