Kirstin Hill is the President and COO at Social Finance. In this newly created role, Kirstin leads the organization’s day-to-day operations and oversees the impact investing and impact advisory business lines. 

Previously, Kirstin worked for 25 years for at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America. Most recently, she served as the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, where she oversaw growth strategy, digital platforms, client service, sales performance, advisor compensation, and field operations. In addition to directing the firm’s daily execution and multi-year business transformation, Kirstin played a critical role in reigniting organic growth at Merrill through alignment of incentives, leader scorecards and routines, recognition programs, and the development of peer networks. While serving over one million high net worth wealth management clients with over $3 trillion in assets under management, Kirstin’s team drove a digital transformation in the business: digitizing client onboarding, delivering a mobile advisor workstation, leveraging artificial intelligence to support client service, and developing new digital advisor matching service for prospective clients. Under her leadership, they created record client satisfaction and delivered over $16B in revenue and over $4B in NIBT to shareholders.  

Prior to this role, Kirstin led the Personal Retirement Solutions business for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She also worked in the bank’s Global Markets division in Equity Derivative Structuring, Equity Derivative Trading, and Convertible Bond Trading in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Australia.

A strong advocate for diversity equity, and inclusion at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Kirstin worked internally to hire and develop diverse talent. She also used her experience and passion to help enable financial advisors to better meet the needs of women and diverse investors.   

A graduate of Harvard College, Kirstin lives in Boston with her husband and two daughters.
