Acres supported across 18 states through 80 loans in Fund I
Mad Capital is a public benefit corporation dedicated to accelerating the transition to regenerative organic agriculture across the United States. Through its Perennial Fund II, Mad Capital provides flexible credit—including operating, real estate, equipment, and infrastructure loans—to farmers and ranchers seeking to adopt regenerative practices that improve soil health, biodiversity, and climate resilience.
As agriculture continues to account for over 25% of global climate emissions, conventional farming practices contribute to biodiversity loss and soil degradation. Regenerative organic agriculture offers a powerful solution—capable of sequestering carbon, improving water quality, and enhancing biodiversity. Yet farmers face significant barriers to transition, including lack of capital, education, and market access. Mad Capital’s Perennial Fund II addresses these challenges by offering operating, real estate, equipment, and infrastructure loans tailored to the needs of regenerative farmers.
Our investment aims to help Mad Capital scale its reach, deepen its impact, and demonstrate a replicable model for transforming agricultural finance.
U.S. agriculture is undergoing a generational shift—facing degraded soil, volatile input costs, generational turnover, and mounting climate pressure. Social Finance recognized the importance of this ongoing shift, and from our first conversation, we found deep currents of philosophical alignment. Their conscientious approach and clear, transparent communication throughout diligence were truly best in class. We’re excited to be working together to help U.S. farmers and ranchers transform the food system.
