After serving in the U.S. Army, Patrick knew he needed to chart a new path.
“I wasn’t going to be doing the Army for a career, so I needed to decide what I was going to do with my life,” he said. Technology had always been a focus of his, but after his certifications lapsed, he needed a way back into the field.
Patrick enrolled in Per Scholas’ IT Support program, determined to rebuild his career.
“I’m a 44-year-old, partially deaf, disabled veteran, and I did it. The program was demanding, sure, but absolutely achievable. I really liked the instructors, the learners, and the staff.”
To make full-time training possible, Patrick participated in their Zero Percent Loan program supported by the Google Career Certificates Fund, which helps learners cover essential expenses during training.
“[The loan] was offered with no pressure, just as an option—and it ended up being a huge help,” he said. “It helped pay for gas, tech items I needed, and gave me financial breathing room.”
Today, Patrick works as an Installation and Support Technician at Freight Snap, splitting his time between remote tech support and on-site installations.
“I love where I’m at—the company, the product, the people. I was really blessed to land here after Per Scholas.”
