Sandra is Vice President of Government Relations at Social Finance. In this role, she works with state and local governments, as well as the federal government, to advance Social Finance’s mission of building innovative partnerships and investments that realign systems to measurably improve lives.
Prior to joining Social Finance, Sandra played a leading role in the advocacy work of two nonprofit organizations: the American Federation of Government Employees and Americans for Tax Fairness. During the Obama administration, Sandra spent seven years at the Treasury Department, including five years as a Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, where she developed and executed the Department’s legislative strategy on all matters pertaining to tax policy, retirement security, economic policy, and the federal budget. Before joining the Treasury, Sandra spent four years on Capitol Hill, where she led communications strategy for two senior members of Congress.
Sandra graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University with a dual major in Political Science and Communications.
