Jake Edwards is a Managing Director, Impact Investments at Social Finance. He leads the organization’s Workforce & Education Investments practice, which manages 13 funds representing more than $330 million in capital. That capital comes from public, philanthropic, and private funders, and it is all directed toward helping individuals gain the skills that lead to good-paying jobs.

The practice designs financing models that expand access to effective training programs, shift risk away from learners, and pair high-quality instruction with critical wraparound supports. Its work includes the $100M Google Career Certificates Fund and a growing set of Pay It Forward Funds operating across the country.

Jake joined Social Finance in 2014 and has worked with both the advisory services and impact investment teams, testing and implementing projects across multiple jurisdictions and issue areas, from child welfare to housing and homelessness. Before that, he was a policy analyst with the Massachusetts House Committee on Ways and Means.

He graduated cum laude from Middlebury College with a dual major in economics and history.
