Angie Goenaga is an Associate Director, Impact Investments at Social Finance, where she supports the firm’s impact-first investing activities, including sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments across the Impact First Fund and economic mobility funds.
Prior to joining Social Finance, Angie spent eight years at Women’s World Banking Asset Management, where she joined as one of the first four employees and helped grow the platform from $50 million to $150 million in assets under management. As an Investment Officer, she structured and closed several equity, debt, and hybrid transactions totaling $56 million across nine countries in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. Angie also managed portfolio oversight for the full platform, including quarterly investment committee and LP reporting, and built the organization’s intern program over six years, recruiting and training more than 15 emerging investment professionals. Before Women’s World Banking, Angie worked in structured finance in Bogotá, Colombia, where she supported over $500 million in asset-backed securities issuance and contributed to a USAID-backed sustainable finance project assessing investment risk in biodiversity corridors.
Angie holds an M.S. in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a B.E. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. She is a final-stage judge for the MIINT Impact Investing Competitionand a mentor through the Pygma fintech accelerator in Latin America. Originally from Colombia, Angie is based in Brooklyn, New York.
