Abby Silverman

Abby is an Associate Director of Communications & Public Relations at Social Finance, where she leads the organization’s media relations work. Her job is to make Social Finance’s work accessible to the outside world, turning complex ideas into stories that reach national, regional, and trade audiences. She also works closely with leaders across the organization on how they speak about that work, from op-eds to conference stages.

Prior to joining Social Finance, Abby served as an Account Director at Slowey McManus Communications, where she advised clients in the public policy, education, and nonprofit sectors on using strategic communication to advance their mission and policy goals, and counseled them through crises.

Abby’s experience also includes serving as a Communications and Legislative Director in the Massachusetts State House, as Development and Communications Coordinator at the American Jewish Committee, and as a Field Organizer on Don Berwick’s gubernatorial campaign.

Abby earned a B.A. in Government and Anthropology from Skidmore College and an M.A. in Communication Management, with a focus on Political Communication, from Emerson College.
