This letter to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System highlights Social Finance’s views on the modernization of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and describes the key principles used in Social Finance’s work that align with those that should be used when developing the CRA: clearly defining outcomes, making data-driven decisions, building cross-sector partnerships, maintaining strong governance and accountability, and increasing catalytic capital for social impact.
There is a strong mission alignment between the CRA and Social Finance; both ultimately aim to ensure opportunities for communities to thrive.
