The Social Finance Institute and the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USCCF) are partnering to assess how and why employers are investing in worker training and upskilling.

The labor market faces unprecedented disruption driven by technological shifts from the pandemic, the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, and the associated supply chain pressures of these advancements. Employers are essential partners in closing skills gaps and ensuring that workforce training remains aligned with rapidly evolving industry needs and the security and competitiveness demands of the economy. Yet many employers remain hesitant to invest, often due to limited awareness of the range of engagement models available to them.
The Social Finance Institute and the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation are partnering to assess how and why employers are investing in worker training and upskilling.
Through engagement with corporate leaders, this project will create a standardized taxonomy of the existing models for making these investments, assess their business case for investment, and develop implementation roadmaps anchored in real-world case studies and tailored to employer profiles – with the ultimate goal of accelerating the adoption of what works and deepening the connection between industry and the workforce development system.
