Care Access Real Estate (CARE) is a private real estate fund focused on addressing the critical shortage of quality licensed child care in the United States. Managed by Mission Driven Finance, CARE acquires, renovates, and leases residential and commercial properties to licensed child care providers—particularly those led by women and people of color—serving a range of families across income levels. CARE’s model includes affordable leases, technical assistance, and a purchase option that allows providers to build wealth through property ownership.

CARE offers a compelling, systems-level solution to one of the most pressing challenges in the U.S. child care sector: the lack of affordable, stable facilities for providers. By focusing on real estate—the largest cost and barrier for many providers—CARE enables small-scale, community-rooted child care businesses to grow and thrive.

Our investment supports CARE’s bridge loan facility, enabling the acquisition and renovation of properties while CARE builds toward a long-term, scalable capital structure. This catalytic capital helps CARE demonstrate proof-of-concept, attract additional investment, and expand its impact across underserved communities.

CARE addresses one of the most persistent challenges in early childhood care—real estate—by offering providers the opportunity to build wealth and a pathway to asset ownership while expanding access to quality child care in underserved communities.
