Meg Massey

Meg Massey is the Associate Director of Policy & Communications, supporting the growth of the new Social Finance Institute.

Meg’s interest in cross-sector funding strategies for social good began during her tenure as a policy analyst at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), where she helped federal agencies adopt outcomes-based funding models. She went on to advance impact-first principles through strategic communications roles at the Urban Institute, Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG), and Upaya Social Ventures.

Meg is the co-author of the award-winning book Letting Go: How Philanthropists and Impact Investors Can Do More Good By Giving Up Control. A journalist by training, her writing has appeared in a number of publications over the years, including Impact Alpha and the Chronicle of Philanthropy. She also co-founded the digital magazine Proximate.

Meg earned her BA magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College and her MA in American government from Georgetown University. She lives in Washington, D.C.
