Sima Baran is an associate at Social Finance, working with the advisory services, social investment, and active performance management teams. She was previously the director of operations for an international retailer of consumer goods, where she was a core member of the management team that established a 33,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She led the company’s focus on recruitment and hiring efforts in Lawrence’s predominantly Latino immigrant community, and coordinated the facility’s bilingual production operations.
Sima recently co-captained a 41-foot sailboat that circumnavigated the globe, completing the journey in 2016. Prior to her sailing experience, she was a senior associate at The Parthenon Group, providing corporate strategy consulting to C-suite executives, private equity investors, non-profit leaders, and philanthropists. Sima developed a particular focus on the firm’s pro bono practice, advising non-profits on growth planning, new-product and service-delivery approaches, and enrollment and retention strategies.
Sima graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a BA in Government and French.
