Kayleigh Burgess is associate director of communications at Social Finance, where she develops engaging content and creative strategies to reach a wide range of external audiences. Since joining the team in 2016, she has helped advance the Pay for Success field through publications, speeches, social media, field communications, and earned media placements.
Prior to joining Social Finance, Kayleigh worked in the nonprofit sector, focused on sustainable food systems and multicultural affairs. As a community educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension, she facilitated the development of the first urban farm in Syracuse, NY and implemented initiatives to increase access to fresh food city-wide. As a 2014 Pro Journo fellow, she reported on organic solutions in global food production.
Kayleigh graduated from Warren Wilson College with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies. She earned a dual Master of Public Affairs and Master of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University.
