Jenny Zhao is associate director of communications at Social Finance, where she focuses on digital marketing, branding, public relations, content, and project management.
Jenny has a passion for building brands at the cutting edge of social impact and sustainability. Most recently she led digital marketing for MIT Solve, a global social entrepreneurship initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and also served on Solve’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion task force. Before Solve, Jenny was director of digital marketing for Clover Food Lab, a sustainable fast casual chain with a mission to fight climate change by changing the way we eat. She also managed product marketing at ENGIE Impact, a clean energy and sustainability company created to lead the sustainability transformation for corporations, cities, and governments. She started her marketing career working at the Harvard Business School Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, managing a federal grant project for regional economic development from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Jenny graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Women’s and Gender Studies. In her free time, she is a wildlife photographer and Instagram influencer (@rogerandjennyphotography), capturing powerful photos from her travels locally and internationally to shine a light on wildlife conservation. Her work has been published in National Geographic, BBC Earth, BBC News, Sony Alpha, Smithsonian Magazine, Mass Audubon, Africa Geo Magazine, Cape Cod Travel Guide Magazine, and more.
