Smitha Ramakrishna is the Advisor to CEO on Special Projects at Social Finance. She supports the CEO in leading the organization’s impact management and thought leadership strategy, as well as contributes to Social Finance’s social investment efforts.
Prior to joining Social Finance, Smitha worked in private equity at Cube Hydro Partners, a firm focused on renewable energy infrastructure investments. Before Cube Hydro, she worked in consulting and as a Legislative Fellow for the U.S. House of Representatives. Her passion to scale social impact formed at a young age when she founded her first water nonprofit at the age of 12. Smitha has since spoken globally about her work at events such as the World Water Forum, Democratic National Convention, and United Nation’s Environmental Program conferences. She currently serves on the Young Partners Board of the Boston Ballet.
Smitha has an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she co-founded the HBS Impact Investing Club. She received an A.B. with Honors in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard College, where she conducted her thesis research on corporate water risk and co-founded the Harvard Social Innovation Collaborative and Harvard US-India Initiative.
